Quick start

Start with the hardware installation, then open the controls in your browser.

    Connect to Wi-Fi

    Power up the kit and join its wireless network.

    Open the controls

    While connected to the kit, open either address in your browser:

    These addresses are only for the kit’s local Wi-Fi network.

Connected, but the page will not load?Temporarily turn off mobile data so your phone or tablet uses the kit’s Wi-Fi. You can also try a private/incognito browser window to help with DNS issues.

Configuration

The Shiftlight Configuration card has three tabs. Use them to adjust when the LEDs light up, how they blink and how the RPM signal is filtered.

Minimum & Maximum RPM
Minimum RPM
Set the engine speed at which the LEDs begin to illuminate.
Maximum RPM
Set the engine speed at which the LEDs start blinking.

Use the sliders to match the shiftlight to your engine’s power band and your preferred shift point.

Blink Timings

Two sliders set how long the LEDs stay ON and OFF, in milliseconds.

Shorter times give a faster flash. Longer times make the blink slower.

Signal Calibration
Max RPM Change Rate
Filter unrealistic RPM spikes by setting a rate threshold. For example, 10 RPM/ms helps distinguish real acceleration from electrical glitches. This is an example, not a universal setting.
Startup Grace Period
Choose how long the controller filters and stabilizes the signal after engine start to reduce false readings caused by startup noise.

Premium features

The Premium Features card lists the available add-ons and shows which ones are unlocked on your device.

  1. Copy your Device IDUse the copy button in the web interface.
  2. Choose an add-onEnter that Device ID when buying the feature in the shop.
  3. Get your activation codeUse the code sent by email or retrieve it from the Code Center.
  4. Activate the featureEnter the code in the activation code field in the kit’s interface.

Premium add-on

RPM Presets

Switch between three customizable RPM profiles at the press of a button. Give each profile a name; your settings stay saved after a reboot.

Useful for switching between street, sport and track settings without adjusting the RPM sliders each time.

Premium add-on

Gauge Sweep

Enable or disable the startup sweep and adjust its duration with a slider.

Planned for this add-on: more startup animations through OTA updates, including random glitter and double flash.

Planned: CAN/OBD & OLED support

These features are in development. CAN/OBD is planned as a future premium feature, with live vehicle data in the web interface. The CAN chip is already fitted to the board.

The planned connection uses the vehicle’s relevant CAN wires. Follow the installation instructions released with the feature when it becomes available.

The board also has an I2C interface. Support for showing selected CAN data on an external OLED display is planned.

Watch for firmware updates and announcements. No release date is listed in this guide.

Firmware updates

Firmware updates are installed wirelessly, so you do not need physical access to the kit.

  1. Open the Firmware Center to download the update files (.bin).
  2. Open Install Center in the kit’s web interface and use it to upload the update files wirelessly.

Internet access for update checksThe interface automatically checks for firmware when online. The phone, tablet or PC you use needs an internet connection for this, for example mobile data or a PC’s LAN connection. Internet access is also needed to download update files.

Diagnostics

Use Diagnostics & System Info to check the board and test your installation.

System Status

  • Current uptime
  • Memory usage
  • CPU temperature

Last Uptime, in the second tab, shows how long the board ran during its previous session.

Test & restart

Test LED
Runs the LEDs up and down to check the installation.

Reboot
Restarts the board directly from the web interface.

Help & FAQ

Wi-Fi is connected. Why will the page not open?

Temporarily disable mobile data so the phone or tablet uses the kit’s Wi-Fi. Try 192.168.1.1 as well as shiftlights.local. A private/incognito browser window may also help with DNS issues.

Where do I find my premium activation code?

Copy your Device ID from the kit’s interface and use it when purchasing the add-on. Retrieve the code from your email or the Premium Feature Code Center, then enter it in the activation code field.

How do I install a firmware update?

Get the update files from the Firmware Center and use Install Center in the kit’s web interface to upload them wirelessly.

Why does the interface look different on a computer?

The kit’s configuration interface and shop screenshots are designed around the mobile layout. On a desktop or tablet, use a narrow browser view or mobile-device mode in your browser’s developer tools to see the sliders and tabs as shown in the documentation.
